HOMING (2024- present)

“homing”- an ability to return to a place after traveling a far distance/ to move or be aimed towards/ to focus attention on

Homing is an iterative series of site-specific audio installations and participatory performance scores for parks and public spaces.  Across interconnected site-specific works, Homing examines relationships between natural and built environments while fostering practices of attention, physical orientation, and collective exploration of landscape. A central point of tension that emerges from the components of this work is the relationship between what is “natural” and what is “human-made.”  By offering an experiential and educational process of orientation to site, Homing illuminates the co-creation of site with human activity that is always taking place. Through this process of orientation, Homing encourages embodied relationships to both urban spaces and the natural world, offering each Homing iteration as a potential vector for collaboration between humans and sites.

At each Homing location, participants access the guides via QR codes or by pre-download, and listen with their own phones/headphones. MP3 players are offered at select locations.
